In a recent profile for Rolling Stone, the rocker said that he is “flabbergasted” by the praise Beyonce receives. Tearing into Mrs. Carter’s catalog (or lack thereof, in his opinion), Kid Rock compared Queen Bey to the likes of Prince and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
“Beyoncé, to me, doesn’t have a fucking ‘Purple Rain,’ but she’s the biggest thing on Earth. How can you be that big without at least one ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ or ‘Old Time Rock & Roll’? Naturally, actual members of the Beyhive did not take kindly to Kid Rock’s sentiments. The singer’s loyal fan collective took to the rock star’s Instagram page to defend Beyonce’s honor:
